Company Description
Regional Industrial Mechanical & Piping Contractor
Job Title
Project Manager
How long was client searching prior to our involvement?
6 months
Did client have internal recruiting resources?
Yes, they have an internal recruitment team with job advertisements.
Why was this a real problem for the client?
Our client has been growing 20%-40% each year, for the past 5 years. Due to this, their backlog grows at a rate that requires 2 to 3 new hires every year to keep up with the demand. One of the recently awarded contracts was about to kick off but the current team was already maxed out in terms of backlog managed. Due to this, they had a game plan to manage the project while their team looked for a suitable project manager to oversee this project. The internal team spent a few months attempting to find the right individual but ultimately could not find someone with the right mixture of skillsets. So, the Operations Manager was managing the project while also overseeing the department.
How did this opportunity help the candidate?
The candidate is a veteran of the industrial construction space. Due to a lack of work at his old contractor, he made a move to an organization that was on the fringe of the industrial space. He enjoyed this work for the first few months but quickly realized that he missed the heavy industrial space. Due to this, he was looking for a strong industrial contractor to be a part of. By joining this organization, he gets to be in the industrial space again and work with an organization that never has a lack of project work.
