Why was this a real problem for the client?

The General Manager at one of the plants had announced his retirement. Because the company experiences very low turnover at its other locations, they did not have an internal successor ready to step in. Finding an external leader who could seamlessly manage operations while preserving the company’s culture was critical.

How did this opportunity help the candidate?

The candidate we placed was working for a multi-billion-dollar, private equity–backed label producer where decisions were centralized and far removed from his influence. Although he successfully ran the most profitable locations in the company, he was facing the possibility of consolidation and reduced autonomy. The family-run environment of our client offered him the chance to have a direct impact, greater stability, and a location in the South—his preferred region, where he already had strong connections.
