Company Description
Multi-Regional Commercial & Industrial Mechanical & Building Automation Contractor
Job Title
Building Automation Service Technician
How long was client searching prior to our involvement?
The client was searching for 3 months prior to reaching out to DDI.
Did client have internal recruiting resources?
The client does not have an internal recruiting team nor had they typically leveraged the services of a third-party recruiter. The job was posted on Indeed.
Why was this a real problem for the client?
They currently have a significant backlog of work due to a combination of staffing changes and increased demand. Several tenured employees have recently retired, which reduced available technical capacity. In addition, one of their senior technicians was promoted to the role of service manager, a positive move for leadership continuity, but one that created an additional gap in the field. As a result, the client needed help filling out their service team. This vacancy placed added strain on the remaining team and contributed to delays in addressing their growing workload.
How did this opportunity help the candidate?
The candidate was previously in a role that required extensive travel, spending approximately three weeks out of every month on the road. While this arrangement was manageable earlier in his career, it became increasingly challenging after he recently relocated his family to Oklahoma in order to be closer to extended family. This ultimately led him to seek an opportunity that would offer greater stability, a more consistent schedule, and a better work–life balance while allowing him to remain close to his family. This organization provides the opportunity for long-term career development that excited the candidate.
