The role was open due to a promotion so that internal candidate couldn’t move up until we found their replacement.

The candidate we placed spent his entire 30-year career in the same market as my client but at a different company. His organization was going through some manufacturing and cultural challenges that were not going away. He felt that if he didn’t see this out, he would regret at least not trying.
