Company Description

Regional Operating Company of a $1+B Mechanical Contractor

Job Title

BIM Lead

How long was client searching prior to our involvement?

6 months

Did client have internal recruiting resources?

Yes, they have local Human Resources & recruitment teams.

Why was this a real problem for the client?

Our client has a niche specialty in the high purity mechanical construction space in the South East. They pre-fabricate everything for these projects from spools to skid packages. Due to this, they place a large amount of value on strong BIM professionals to ensure that fabrication is completed correctly and on time.  While, also ensuring that Project Management is well informed. For the organization, they have been growing steadily and won a handful of projects that are large in scope, and that they did not believe that they would win all of. Due to this, they needed an individual who would be able to step into these projects day-1 with minimal to no training and “hit the ground running”.  With COVID-19, the employer was originally looking for a remote individual to work in the department. However, after 2 months of searching, and numerous candidates falling out of the interview process, the employer decided to change their focus and look for a local candidate in their satellite office.

How did this opportunity help the candidate?

The candidate is a career BIM professional that has spent the past decade in the mechanical construction space. He had spent the last 8 plus years with one organization and was attempting to grow his career into more than just a career detailer. He had asked the organization for numerous promotions. However, the organization was not willing to move him up. This opportunity allows him to step into a leadership role day-1, and move his way up to department manager in the foreseeable future, while also exposing him to more intricate systems that will keep his mind engaged.
