A 30+ year old independent sheet plant who is one of the largest automotive packaging producers in the United States.
How long was client searching prior to our involvement?
Did client have internal recruiting resources?
Outside of posting the job they did not have any other recruiting resources.
Why was this a real problem for the client?
Their production manager had recently left without notice which put them in a bind. Although he left without notice, they were considering making a change anyways due to a lack of leadership. They wanted someone who is an on-the-floor leader who understands sheet plants and the converting side of the business. They were having a lot of unplanned downtime and long set-up times which had been contributing to a decrease in profitability.
How did this opportunity help the candidate?
This allowed the candidate to be able to focus on what he loves and that is the production side of the business. With his current employer, he was serving a dual role as the Operations Manager and New Business Development Manager. This made it hard to focus in one area. This also provides more stability as his current employer is owned by a private equity. From a location standpoint, this put he and his wife within 45 minutes of their son. On the compensation side, he stands to earn roughly $13,000 more in just the first year.
